Centre of Research and Innovation in Maritime Affairs (CRIMA) has been established since 8th June 2021 at Minhaj University Lahore. Maritime Affairs is an emerging academic field that covers multiple dimensions of the social and scientific studies. The aim of CRIMA is to promote maritime research and innovation in order to explore its potential in Pakistan. The Centre provides new policy insights for Pakistan’s maritime sector and valuable input from the academia for quality research and reliable statistical data. CRIMA mainly focuses on the Maritime matters such as Safety and Security. Ports & Shipping, Marine Environment, Employment & Trade, Coastal Infrastructure Development, Renewable Energy, Conservation of Marine Biology, Mining, Regulations & Policies and Maritime Tourism.
I want to convey my deep appreciation for the substantial contributions made by CRIMA in the maritime industry, which plays a pivotal role in fostering worldwide economic expansion and advancement. The prioritization of research and innovation investment is crucial to guarantee sustainable growth and development. The dedication of CRIMA to coordinating noteworthy endeavors, such as seminars, conferences, webinars, workshops, and summer and winter schools, deserves high praise. These platforms play a crucial role in enabling the exchange of ideas and knowledge-sharing among scholars, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, thereby significantly contributing to the progress and development of the maritime field
We, in the Centre of Research and Innovation in Maritime Affairs (CRIMA), Minhaj University Lahore, consider ourselves privileged to be associated with this unique and a more comprehensive research centre which aims to contribute in maritime affairs. The core objective of CRIMA is to create awareness, highlight potential and challenges in different domains of maritime through research and innovation for the economic development of Pakistan and improve living standards of its citizens. CRIMA is a fast-growing research Centre which is marking its footprints for other institutions by conducting dynamic and productive events which are acknowledged at national forums and international community.
