CRIMA organized a webinar on ‘Maritime Security and Regional Stability; UN 2030 Agenda’. The webinar featured speakers Dr Ian Ralby, Senior Fellow, Centre for Maritime Strategy - USA, Dr Farhat Asif, President, Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies – Pakistan and Mr Fidel Amakye Owusu, Geopolitical and Security Advisor, Riley Risk Inc. - USA. The webinar highlighted the discussion on the emerging threats to maritime security around the globe and their vulnerabilities to disrupt the global order and the UN 2030 Agenda. The event stressed the need for international collaboration to mitigate these risks in a peaceful manner requiring an inclusive approach to address all the stakeholders. Prof Dr Sajid Mehmood Shahzad, Vice Chancellor, Minhaj University Lahore, concluded the webinar by highlighting the importance of oceans and seas in our daily life and blocking SLOCs meant blocking the world’s lifeline. The world especially after COVID pandemic cannot bear an economic crunch and an international unrest. The divided people on land can be united but it can be only done when we secure our oceans and act responsibly.
