CRIMA organized a book talk on Geoffrey Till’s ‘Sea Power: A Guide for the 21st Century’ at LRC. The guest speaker was Ms Aanghshay Khan, Research Intern at CRIMA. She provided a comprehensive analysis of the role of sea power in modern times, exploring its impact on global politics, economies, and societies. Further, she explained that the strategic significance of sea power, including its role in deterrence, coercion, and conflict resolution, and discusses the impact of globalization on sea power, including the growth of international trade and the increasing importance of maritime security. In addition, the capabilities and limitations of modern navies, including their ability to project power, conduct expeditionary operations, and maintain maritime security, and explores the challenges posed by new technologies. Till emphasizes the need for a comprehensive understanding of sea power, integrated with other forms of national power, and examines the role of sea power in maintaining global order. In conclusion, Ms Khan emphasized the importance of cooperation and investment to tackle modern maritime challenges.
