Objectives

Centre of Research and Innovation in Maritime Affairs (CRIMA) is to accomplish the following objectives:

To provide effective policy insights for Pakistan's maritime domain
To share academic input to public and private sectors in the form of extensive maritime research
To encourage participation of Pakistani entrepreneurs, mainly in shipping industry, both domestic and foreign level
To promote clean marine environment and address challenges of climate change
To build positive image of Pakistan at international level in order to boost maritime tourism

To produce and promote intellectuals and experts of the maritime studies
To conduct research in different maritime zones to build a strong marine economy, and to enhance the harmonious coexistence between mankind and ocean for the sustainable development
To promote regional integration and coordination, especially with ocean economics in IOR periphery
To promote cooperation, expertise and knowledge liaison with academic institutes of other countries involving maritime studies
To foster academic cooperation with researchers of other national and international institutions.
