IPDS visited CRIMA at Minhaj University Lahore

The Center of Research and Innovation in Maritime Affairs (CRIMA) at Minhaj University Lahore held a meeting with a delegation from the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS), Islamabad, led by Dr Farhat Asif, the Founding President of IPDS. During the meeting, both introduced their respective areas of work, research interests, and ongoing initiatives. The meeting primarily focused on exploring future avenues of collaboration, particularly in connection with CRIMA’s upcoming 5th International Maritime Conference 2027. Both sides discussed potential collaboration through expert participation, panel discussions, research contributions, and other academic and policy-oriented activities. The meeting concluded on a positive note expressing interest in strengthening institutional linkages and pursuing mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.

Webinar on Building Climate-Resilient Communities in Pakistan: Integrating Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction

The Center of Research and Innovation in Maritime Affairs (CRIMA), Minhaj University Lahore, organized a webinar on “Building Climate-Resilient Communities in Pakistan: Integrating Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction”. The session featured Dr Ghulam Murtaza, Director/Professor, Institute of Soil and Environmental Sciences, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad; Dr Muhammad Ejaz Tanveer, Superintending Engineer (Floods), Office of the Chief Engineering Advisor/Chairman Federal Flood Commission, Ministry of Water Resources, Islamabad; Dr Sheikh Kamran Abid, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, School of Housing, Building and Planning, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia. The discussion focused on climate change impacts and recent floods, community-based disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, early warning systems, sustainable infrastructure, ecosystem conservation, climate finance, institutional coordination, and technological innovation for disaster resilience. The webinar provided an important platform for knowledge sharing, expert dialogue, and emphasizing stronger collaboration among academia, government, research institutions, and communities to build a more resilient and sustainable Pakistan.
