Objectives
Centre of Research and Innovation in Maritime Affairs (CRIMA) is to accomplish the following objectives:
- To provide effective policy insights for Pakistan's maritime domain
- To share academic input to public and private sectors in the form of extensive maritime research
- To encourage participation of Pakistani entrepreneurs, mainly in shipping industry, both domestic and foreign level
- To promote clean marine environment and address challenges of climate change
- To build positive image of Pakistan at international level in order to boost maritime tourism
- To produce and promote intellectuals and experts of the maritime studies
- To conduct research in different maritime zones to build a strong marine economy, and to enhance the harmonious coexistence between mankind and ocean for the sustainable development
- To promote regional integration and coordination, especially with ocean economics in IOR periphery
- To promote cooperation, expertise and knowledge liaison with academic institutes of other countries involving maritime studies
- To foster academic cooperation with researchers of other national and international institutions.
